How long messages are kept

Routine inquiries that do not become organizational records are deleted within 90 days after your inquiry is resolved. Messages that become union-business, financial, political, charitable, grievance, legal, compliance, or election records — or that are subject to a legal hold — are kept for the longer period that applies. Records covered by federal labor-reporting requirements are kept for at least five years after the related report is filed.
